Why do I love romance? Because the world survives on love and what better way to convey love than through romance? Plus, there's the hot guys you imagine being with and feisty women you imagine being, and the situations result in the HEA you wish for yourself. What's not to love?

Hello ladies! My name is Ashley Carbone and I am absolutely in love with love! When I was a young girl I would constantly dream about my one true love. Being saved by the handsome, strong prince on a white steed. Oh boy, those were the days! And even today I am still a dreamer at heart. Reading romance novels keeps my dreams alive and leaves me with an overwhelming feeling of joy. It takes me away to a new, exciting world that can make my heart melt, my cheeks turn pink, and make the happiest tears fall from my cheek.

Happy New Year ladies and best wishes to you all!

I can be contacted at ashleyc8705@gmail.com

I love reading romances because I love to experience the thoughts and feelings of the hero and heroine and share their journey, however rocky, to their happy end.

I love romance because it gives me hope to believe in happy endings. I've always loved reading and writing it, and enjoy the way a romantic book can transport me to another time and place. Magic does exist, and you can find it in the pages of a good book.

I'm a single parent to a 14 year old Autistic son and an 8 year old daughter. I love reading romance novels because I can imagine myself in the heroine's place. How wonderful it would feel to be treated like I was special by a strong, sexy man but most of all I like reading about a kind, loving man who is good to the heroine's children. I have loved romance since I was a child- raised on fairytales like Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Snow White, Cinderella and my mother led the way with her Harlequin's and Silohette romance novels.

I fell in love with love then and I guess that's why I like to write it as well. The best way to describe it for me is a quote- not sure who wrote it, but it's my favorite-

Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired.

It's something we all want and need and reading romance fills me with all those wonderful emotions and gives me the "happily ever afters" I expect.

Beautiful site, ladies. I love pink. And I love romance. I read my first Harlequin Romance at age 11--my grandpa made fun of them and jokingly called them "I love you truly" books. :) I love romance because I want to read about love and happy ever after. I want escapism and fantasy. If I want reality, I'll watch the news.

Love/Romance makes the world go around and if that's the case, without it, we would all fly off, right? Seriously though, it is something we all need and the purest form of romance can be found in the books we read. Hats off to the talented authors who write them. My favorite genre is Historical with emphasis on the Regency period but I also enjoy a good romantic suspense too.

Beautiful site ladies. Loooking forward to reading more from you all.

Why do I love romance? Because there is always a happy ending. The good gal always wins the good fight and life goes on as it should. With real life being as it is, we need to be encouraged that the good fight can be won with love.

And that's my 2 cents -

I love romance because it always stands for something won. Love is won, lust is won and happiness has won. Life is too hard sometimes without romance, love and the butterflies in the pit of your stomach. It is always the happily ever after ending.

Congrats on your new blog and your books. I've been reading romance since I was about 16 years old when a friend got me hooked on Harlequins. My love now is historical, with more than 99% of my books being that, but I still read a contemporary now and again. I think I 'love' romance because it allows us to watch two people learn that they've met the one and only person for them. It makes us feel good and inspires us to do good in the lives of those around us.

I savor romance because it caused me to well up with joy. Thinking about romance causes my body, mind and spirit to realize that we are created for basking in the love of another. Romance fills me with a feeling that I can best describe as being similar to biting into the world's most decadent chocolate candy and finding out it is calorie free. That is what I call a HAPPY ending.

Hello to all of the Pink Ladies! I hope you all had a great Holiday season and have started out the New Year the way you hope it will continue to go.

You asked what I would define romance as. Well, it's very complex, yet simple at the same time. It's not the happy ending, but the way you get there.

I feel romance can be found so easily. It's what warms your body, heart and soul. I think it can be an older couple you see sitting on a park bench holding hands as you are taking your morning walk at the park on the lake. Yes, it can be roses, candlelight and soft music, but it is also found at the end of the day. Sitting at the dinner table, with the kids playing, but you and your spouse's eyes meet and you feel your body start to tingle. You both start to smile, beginning to reminiscence of your first date at a cafe when your eyes met across the table, and you see the unconditional true love in their eyes. As is probably obvious by now, I can find romance almost everywhere at everytime. It's a feeling of intense love that comes over you even just seeing it through someone else's eyes, if not your own.

I'll give you a personal example. Even though women are more often the recipient, I gave my soon to be husband a gift a few years back that many friends find romantic. I cut out over 100 3" hearts of construction paper. On each one I notated a different reason that I loved him. Reasons included past, present and future things we have done or discussed, and also just little things he does that make me get butterflies, or HOT HOT HOT!

I know it was suppose to be a short note and I apologize. But this is one subject that I could speak of for days and days. And, I wish I could experience the truely, romantic escapades that occur in ya'lls novels, but I'm just a woman in Mississippi. I'll keep dreaming of the Irish cliffs, tropical beaches, ranches, pirates, etc. Romance is in the mind also.

Thank you for this site and I look forward to following ya'lls blogs.

After 15 years of being a single parent, I had convinced myself I didn't care if I was single forever. Then I met a handsome, brown-eyed Army Major in the Kentucky National Guard, and all those thoughts went out the window! We met on AOL, and the first time we met in person we fell madly in love. 10 years later we are still together, spending our time cooking, crafting, and loving every minute together. We agree are each other's better half!

Hello! Saw your note on Craigslist, great site ladies, I love the colour scheme and the message. I adore romance novels. They were the first 'grown up' books I read at about the age of 10; sneaking my mothers Mills and Boon off the bookshelf when she wasn't looking. I would get lost in the stories for a few hours, and I always felt happier after reading one. They made me believe that a great love waited for me in my future too. I cherish the romantic side of my nature and am always on the lookout for great romance novels. Thank you romance writers everywhere for all your hard and wonderful work!

Why do I love romance?
I enjoy romance because I love reading about other time periods in historical romance so I can experience a different time and place while enjoying a great romance. I love paranormals because they really stir my imagination, plus I love the hunky guys. Romantic suspense takes you on a thrilling ride, while romantica takes you on an entirely different type of ride.
As long as it's well written, interesting and exciting I can get into it. Of and of course a HEA! A must have for me!
Another added bonus for me is that my husband loves for me to read him the spicier parts!

I love romance. They are the perfect comfort books, the kind that take me out of my hectic everyday life and give me something that I know will give me hope for a better tomorrow. Hi everyone! I'm Kammie and an avid romance reader. I love romance and having it in your life can help you get through the tough times. It's those small gestures, that kiss on the cheek, holding hands and the "I Love You' when you weren't expecting it kind of moments. Doesn't have to be anything big or cost a lot of money.

I'm not really a poet, but I wrote a special poem in honor of the day:

This Valentine's Day I would like to see
A big box of chocolates waiting there for me
A folded note inside with a vow of love
That continues for a lifetime and I never tire of
A meal prepared for the two of us to share
Not a care in the world and surely no despair
A long hot bath with bubbles in the tub
My hubby sitting there, doing the scrub
Dim the lights and it's only just begun
Soft music on and I'm ready for the fun.

I am a romantic. I love the simple things , the moon, the stars, playing in the rain or in a puddle of water. I love holding hands or sitting together with candlelight on just holding each other and listening to each other breathe or think. I love long walks and just simple things like cooking together, enjoying a cup of coffee. Funny, but sometimes it is even romantic reading to each other over the phone or reading things on the computer together when we are away from each other. Sometimes we find romance in traveling together on the computer. I dont know, love is funny and things can be so romantic if you make them that way.
Oh yes,I love romance. Lupita Holdiness (smileylupe@aol.com)

Hello I love to read romances because they are so creatively written and take one into a different world that is totally plausable.

As to romance itself it's what makes the world go round. Poets tout it and we all look for it in one form or another.

Romance is to the literary soul what chocolates are to the layman - pure, decadent, awesome indulgence! Something that blows away the blues each and every time. In other words - Magic!

Thanks for this awesome giveaway. Books and more books - what a heavenly Valentine's day gift, mmmm!

My love affair with romance novels started out as a well kept secret. While majoring in English Literature in college, I was submerged in classic literature ranging from Chaucer to Maya Angelou. Young and naive, we considered romance novels to be "beneath us". However, on a visit to my dad's I picked up the only book around - my step-mother's romance novel- and began to read. I was so engrossed that I read it through in one sitting.

Then began my secret passion. The more I read, the more I loved. The historical references, fantasy world, strong female characters - it was like living in another world. I came to love romance novels so much I contemplated writing my own - but I could never get past the steamy scenes! Now I have put that on hold and am content to read the works of others. I have even introduced friends to the wonderful, exciting world of romance!

It is a passion I love to share and am no longer ashamed to prouldy declare "I [heart] romance novels". It is my boredom buster and my pick-me-up when I am down. I read them while I am cooking, bathing, lounging, and if I could do so while driving, I would probably do that too!

My address is melroseg2002[at]yahoo[dot]com

PS- thank you for doing what you do; the call of a good romance novel is sometimes the only thing that keeps me sane!

Asylumgirl said...

I love romance because it allows me to escape from the real world. No matter what genre you enjoy reading, you can find it within romance. Sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal, historical.....they're all there to be discovered.

Romance stories just make you feel good. They remind you of all the tinglies you had when you were in the early stages of your own romances.
